Gail Chesson, an English teacher at Wake Technical Community College, received first place for nonfiction books in the National Federation of Press Women’s annual communications contest for “I Went Looking,” a collection of meditative poems.
Mary Cantando, of Raleigh, signed a contract with Dearborn Trade Publishing to write “The Woman’s Advantage: 20 Women Entrepreneurs Show You What it Takes to Grow Your Business.” The book is scheduled for release May 2006. Cantando is searching for successful businesswomen across the nation to feature in the book.
