R+M, a Cary-based agency that develops and manages brands, was named a regional design winner by PRINT, an industry publication.

Holy Cow, an advertising, graphic design and marketing firm in Cary received silver and bronze awards in the triangle ADDY Competition. The company, run by Lorana Price, also donated a logo, as a silent-auction item, to benefit the Wake County Women’s Center.

Tanya Franklin launched Desktop Pro, a Raleigh-based home-office and computer organizing service.

Laura Williston joined RSVP Events in Chapel Hill as sales and marketing director, and Lindsey Ballentine joined as production director.

Cynthia A. O’Neal of Taylor, Penry, Rash & Riemann in Raleigh, co-authored “The Law of Motor Vehicle Dealer Bond Claims.”

Mary Cantando of Raleigh announced that her book, “The Woman’s Advantage: 20 Women Entrepreneurs Show You What it Takes to Grow Your Business” is scheduled for release next month.

Quality Design and Construction of Raleigh was featured in Women’s Day Home Makeovers and Remodeling Ideas, an annual publication. Peggy Mackowski is vice president of the company.

Charlotte DiLeonardo, CEO of Zebra Print Solutions, a commercial printer in Morrisville, was presented with a plaque from Progress Energy that honors woman-owned and minority business suppliers. Also, the company received a bronze Triangle ADDY award.

Blue Water Spa in Raleigh, announced:

The Greater Triangle YWCA honored the following African-American women for their work in media at its annual “Back To Our Roots Celebration”: Monica E. Barnes, Valonda Calloway, Gayle Hurd, Leoneda Inge and Renee McCoy.

Lana Calloway, president of Exhibit Resources in Raleigh, was named to the board of directors for the Women’s Center of Wake County.

Works by Chatham Studio Tour artist Gretchen Lothrop, a metal sculptor from Pittsboro, were chosen for the Sixth Annual Florida Outdoor Sculpture exhibition.

Wendy Coulter, president of Hummingbird Creative Group in Raleigh, was selected by the American Advertising Federation as an ADDY Awards judge.

Cathy Rosebaugh has been named senior outreach chairwoman for Second Chance Pet Adoptions in Wake County.

Gloria Lesher of Raleigh won first place in the contemporary category of the Golden Pen Contest, a competition sponsored by a chapter of the Romance Writers of America, for her novel “Live for the Moment.”

Bank of America Mortgage awarded “Platinum Club” designation to Julie Hopfer, Gretchen Curtice and Kay McCabe for top performance in the Triangle.

Debbie Komlo and Becky Holt of Coldwell Banker Advantage in Raleigh completed a course to enhance customer service and business referrals.
