Spring's got something for everyone in the Triangle. It's a season of extremes that fits just about any woman. There's a lot to love no matter your fashion focus.

Breezy bombshell? Throw on a midriff-baring floaty frock.

Lady who lunches? Don a structured shorts suit.

Girl in the garden? Sport a burglariped top.

Urban bohemian? Toss on a graphic-print top.

Suburban romantic? Slip into a flamenco-ruffled skirt.

The runways at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, in New York, were filled with a riot of styles. Street-smart looks included racy cutouts, striped garments, sheer inserts, peek-a-boo lace, leather pieces and black-and-white combinations. On the softer side were monochromatic outfits, cropped jackets, maxi dresses, full skirts and fresh takes on florals.

Consider color, for example. The catwalks were filled with strong statements on the subject. White-on-white was big, but so was black-and-white. And so was royal blue. And yellow, too!

There were enough standout looks that we're covering some here and others in April and May.
