Le Tour de Femme is a women's only 15-mile, 31.2-mile and 62.4-mile bicycle ride presented by the nonprofit Grab My Wheel to benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and the Angel Fund of Rex Hospital. The dual mission of the event and its refreshing post-ride celebration is to raise community awareness and funding for cancer survivorship programs and to empower women through the sport of cycling. In the fight with cancer, the nonprofit states, no one rides alone.

Walk for Hope celebrates its 30th year by adding a family-friendly festival to its 10K and 5K run and walk through Umstead Park. Enjoy a day of food, music, games, prizes and sweet treats at the Angus Barn. All the money raised benefits mental health research at the UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Psychiatry. The event began modestly when Angus Barn employees gathered to honor the memory of their employer. Since then, it has contributed millions of dollars to local research.
