As models strutted down the New York Fashion Week runways showing off this season’s must-haves, we were struck by bold patterns, stunning solids, popping hues and an addition to spring wardrobes — jackets!

Whether you’re feeling the vibes at a Progress Energy Center concert or strolling around Streets at Southpoint, these vivid pieces and colors will let your inner fashionista fly. So, prepare for takeoff. Here’s your passport to oh-so-smart designer trends.

Patterns with a Punch

Technicolor, neutral, geometric or abstract — patterns dominate the season. Be fun and flirty with the pattern you choose. Let it fit your mood! Feeling wild? Try animal print. Feeling innocent? Play with polka-dots. Whether you dress boho or structured, take on a strong pattern and put some wow in your wardrobe.

Wearable Whites

The catwalks were filled with white, ultra-femme mini, floor length and cocktail dresses, each bright with its own personality — some sleek and sexy, others romantic and elegant. White is a quick pick for any occasion this spring. Pair a white dress or pantsuit with matching shoes and minimal accessories to complete the look.

Orange is the New Black

Designers juiced the runways with neon orange. Featured in patterns, accessories and jackets, orange was everywhere! This dynamic color is the turn-to shade of the season. For a splashy statement, make this fruity hue a central point of any outfit. Stay tuned for “Spring Loaded Part 2” next month, when we’ll showcase more bold looks from New York Fashion Week.
