No one rides alone in the fight with cancer, declares the nonprofit Grab My Wheel. Le Tour de Femme, its women-only bicycle ride, raises awareness and funding for local cancer programs. Cyclists at all skill levels are encouraged to participate in a ride of 15, 31 or 62 miles. The party starts the previous evening! All proceeds are donated to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and the Rex Healthcare Foundation's Angel Fund.
A Tasteful Affair
Sunday, Nov. 5
Kenan Stadium, Chapel Hill
rmhch.org
The cuisine of more than two dozen of the Triangle's best restaurants, catering firms, beverage purveyors and food trucks is featured under one roof for one price for a great cause. This culinary extravaganza raises money for the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill, the home-away-from-home for families with seriously ill children who travel to the town for specialty care. The gala's motto: "Giving never tasted so good!"
