Walk for the Animals

Every year, the Animal Protection Society of Durham - which runs the city's animal shelter - cares for nearly 6,500 sick, injured, unloved and abandoned critters.

 

The organization provides food, water, medicine and shelter while working to make sure the furry set find loving and nurturing homes.

 

Join supporters of APS for this 1-1/2 mile walk as they strive to raise $75,000 to help homeless creatures.

Since its inception in1980, the spring festival has entertained and inspired hundreds of thousands of people.

 

The free, two-day event features thousands of artists whose work spans many disciplines.

 

Every aspect of the extravaganza is curated with an eye toward presenting quality pieces along with a healthy dose of the unexpected. The festival balances critically acclaimed national figures with some of North Carolina's best performing and visual artists.
